Life Story for Josephine Zelasko

WATERVLIET—Josephine Zelasko, 101, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning at the Van Rensselaer Manor, surrounded by her loving family.

Josephine was born in Poland, a daughter of the late Joseph and Carolina Pollock Rzany. She moved to Troy in 1947. She was employed by Behr Manning and the Norton Company in the sandpaper division as a machine operator for twenty years, retiring in 1973.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stanislaus Zelasko; and her loving son, Stanley Zelasko.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Mary (Robert) Santa Lucia; cherished daughter-in-law, Susan Zelasko; adoring grandchildren, Steven (Lisa) Zelasko, Lisa (Mike) Major, Robert Santa Lucia, Jody (Mike) Hennessy; dear great-grandchildren, Luxe and Liv Zelasko, Eva Major, Cody, Taylor and Giavanna Santa Lucia, and their mother, Kristen, Nicholas and Joshua Hennessy; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony’s Shrine Church, 28 State Street, Troy, on Friday at 9:30 AM.

In keeping with Josephine’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.

Memorial contributions in Josephine’s memory may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, 12144.
