Condolence From: Huge Johnson
Condolence: I remember watching "Commander Ralph" with the "Goodship News" before school in the morning, back in the early '70s. I did not know Mr.Vartigan, but always felt a kinship with his television persona, and remember also his time with WTEN through the years. Here in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, I had always felt more of an affiliation with the Albany area, than with any of the city areas East of here, and Ralph Vartigan helped to shape my view of the Capital District, in a positive light. Thank you Mr. Ralph Vartigan for being a good memory for me.

Condolence From: Joe Condon
Condolence: Had the honor of working with Ralph Vartigan, when Capital Cities owned WTEN-TV and WROW-Radio, and we were all at 341 Northern Boulevard. He was a very talented TV and radio broadcaster, who became a major part of our Capital Region culture. On a personal note, Ralph was a delight to work with. Always, kind and caring, about his work colleagues. A nice man, who will be missed. God Bless You Ralph Vartigan.
