Obituary for Patrice Michelle Zimmerman (Dusseault)

Latham, NY - Patrice Michelle (Dusseault) Zimmerman of Latham and Boca Raton, FL passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015. She was the daughter of Janice Dusseault and the late Walter Dusseault of New Hartford, NY.
Patrice was the beloved wife of Michael Zimmerman, the mother of Christopher A. Chapman of Seattle, WA and Kathleen M. Chapman of Albany. She was also the stepmother of Lori A. (Zimmerman) Mayer (Scott) of Garnet Valley, PA and Erika L. (Zimmerman) Stritsman (Lucas) of Troy.
She is survived by brothers Steven, Terrance, Paul and Peter Dusseault, and sisters Nannette Dusseault and Susan (Dusseault) Walter. Her grandchildren, Hailey and Benjamin Mayer and Klara and Evan Stritsman will greatly miss their Mimi. Patrice also leaves behind an extended family among the Dusseaults and Chapmans.
An alumna of New Hartford, NY High School and a culinary graduate of SUNY Cobleskill, Patrice spent her young adulthood as a hotel pastry chef and head pastry chef. Her love of the food business led her to the former Cowan and Lobell in Albany, her own catering business and ultimately to a marketing role at the former Carmine’s Restaurant in Albany.
In recent years, she has expended her energy and food preparation expertise volunteering at Albany’s HATAS, Troy’s Unity House and Boca Raton’s Boca Helping Hands. She previously served on the board of Capital Repertory Theater. Patrice was an avid tennis player and previously served as secretary of the Troy Tennis Association.
Patrice’s family would like to extend its gratitude to the Colonie Police Department and the New York State Police for their extraordinary response, professionalism and compassion displayed during this difficult time.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumpter Avenue, Guilderland, NY. There will be no calling hours.
