Obituary for Madelaine H. Anselment-Gardner

WATERVLIET - Madelaine H. Anselment-Gardner, 73, entered into eternal life on Friday, May 27, 2016 in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Troy on January 16, 1943, Madelaine was raised there and was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lillian (Saddier) Anselment.

Madelaine worked for Samaritan Hospital in Troy as switchboard operator for several years. She was also employed in VA Hospital in Albany as a pharmacy technician and retired in 1995 from that position.

She enjoyed traveling and seeing the country in her trailer with her husband Paul and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul T. Gardner; her children, Gloria Acevedo of Schenectady, Ventura (Peggy) Acevedo of Watervliet and Tonia Fisher of Schenectady; her step-children, Paulette Stone of Greenville, SC, William T. Gardner of Columbia, SC, Roger A. Gardner and Paul T. Gardner, Jr. both of Camden, SC and Emma Jean Latham of Winnsboro, SC; her sisters, Donna Derrico of Watervliet and Bernadette Derrico, Frederick, New Brunswick, Canada as well as 16 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her brother, Frederick Anselment and her sister, Darlene Anselment.

Funeral from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet on Wednesday at 9 AM and at 10 AM in The Historic Church of St. Mary on Capitol Hill, Lodge and Pine Streets, Albany where her funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Reverend John T. Provost, Pastor. The Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Waterford Rural Cemetery. Friends are invited and may visit with Madelaine’s family on Tuesday from 4 until 7 PM at the funeral home.
