Obituary for June M. Luce (Sherman)

Watervliet – June Marie Luce, 78, of Watervliet, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Diamond Hill Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born in Watervliet on April 24, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Edward Sherman and May Korth Sherman.
June was brought up in the Watervliet and Troy area, and in 1956 married the love of her life, the late Paul S. Luce. They shared 58 wonderful years of marriage together, raising 4 children along the way. The matriarch of her family, June’s motherly love is something her family will never forget. Besides her family, June also loved baking, singing, and shopping. June was a born-again Christian and always found time for God in her life. She was a great listener who would always lend an ear to whoever needed it.
June’s memory lives on in her 4 children; Kathleen (Dale) Wheatley of Troy, Michael (Karen Manzer) Luce of Troy, Lauren (Corey Milano) Jacques of Troy, and David Luce of Troy. She also leaves behind 3 sisters and a brother; Jeanette (Al) Gardner of Watervliet, Joann Sherman of Troy, Jean (Ed) Upton of Watervliet, and Joe (Marie) Sherman of Troy. She is also survived by her best friend, Evelyn Sherman of Troy, as well as by many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews. June was preceded in death by 4 of her siblings, Bob Lovolsi, Marty Sherman (Diane Gordon survives), John Sherman, and Bill Sherman.
A memorial gathering for June will be held Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the Cohoes American Legion, 93 Oneida Street, Cohoes, from 2 pm until 6 pm.
