Obituary for Daniel H. Osgood

TROY – Daniel H. Osgood, 61, died on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush. Born in Troy, Dan was the son of the late Harold and Marie (Flint) Osgood.
Dan was raised and educated in Watervliet and had been employed by Cocca’s Diner in Watervliet and Cocca’s Motels, where he had once served as manager of Cocca’s Inn on Wolf Road as well as at their other various locations. Dan was also employed by Barclay Home Products in Cohoes and the American Seal Paint Factory. He was the founder and owner of Dan’s Shuttle Service for 10 years and was proud to have chauffeured such musical stars as the Temptations, Dionne Warwick, Pure Prairie League and Poco. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed listening to music, especially the oldies.

He was beloved father of Jacqueline Osgood of Smithfield, PA, proud grandfather of Andrew Joseph Osgood and twins, Olivia and Alexis Martin; loving brother of Faith (Bill) Conroy of Watervliet, Melody Osgood of Troy, Marlene (William) Lambertsen of Troy, Marilyn (Glenn) Fuller of Glenville and Phillip Osgood of Albany. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

A service for Dan will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 PM in the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet with Pastor Donald Klob officiating. Friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Dan’s family, prior to his service, on Tuesday from 4 until 7 PM.
