Obituary for Ellen L. Noonan (Dearstyne)

Watervliet- Ellen L. (Dearstyne) Noonan, 84, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016.

Born in Troy, Ellen was the daughter of the late Clayton and Ruth (Bonesteel) Dearstyne. She was raised in Troy, was a graduate of Troy High School and soon after was married to her husband, Joseph E. Noonan, Sr., and together they enjoyed 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2012.

Ellen dedicated her life to the care of her husband, family and her home. She enjoyed reading and watching television and her cats.

She was a communicant of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Watervliet.

Ellen was the much loved mother of Jo Ellen Noonan, Marie Noonan, Joseph Earl Noonan, Jr. (Linda) and Patrick William Noonan (Tarin Bready); proud grandmother of John Joseph Burke and Bryan Christopher Burke (Cheryl); cherished great-grandmother of Jordan Stone and Carissa Burke; sister of Ruth Sweet (Matthew) and the late Donald and David Dearstyne; sister-in-law of Elizabeth Noonan and Mamie Dearstyne and aunt to several nieces and nephews.

Ellen’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to caregiver Tyesha Moore for her four years of dedication and care given to Ellen.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. There will be no public calling hours.
