Obituary for Jean M. "Nan" Legault (Vincent)

Green Island – Jean M. (Vincent) Legault, 73, lovingly known as Nan, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Albany Medical Center.

Born in Troy on August 2, 1943, Jean was the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Rondeau) Vincent. A resident of Watervliet for much of her life, Jean resided in Green Island for the past ten years. She was employed for many years by the Holiday Inn on Wolf Road and at the Heatly School in Green Island but her true life’s labor was caring for her family. Jean enjoyed babysitting and helping to raise several generations of her family. She always looked forward to her family gathering around her table, each and every Sunday, for dinner and took great pride in attending countless activities and sporting events of her children and grandchildren. They knew that they could count on Nan for her support and for always being there to root them on. In recent years, Jean welcomed the addition of her two great-grandchildren which filled her heart with even more pride. In quiet times she enjoyed to sew. Jean leaves behind many memories for her family and friends to cherish. Like her home, her heart was filled with love and she will be deeply missed by all those who knew her and loved her.

Jean was the beloved wife of Gerald “Jerry” Legault; loving mother of Darlene (Steve Opyoke) Legault, John (Carleen) Legault, Kevin (Dawn) Legault and Jody (Angela) Legault; cherished grandmother of John (Molly) Legault, Jr., Justin (Casey) Legault, Brandon (Erica) Legault, Teigin Legault, Elijah (Julianna) Legault, and Morgyn Legault; adored great-grandmother of John Lukas “Jack” Legault and Jacqueline Legault; dear sister of Sandy (Joe) Flanigan and the late William “Bumper” Vincent, Richard (Sheila) Vincent, Jackie (Peter) Passaretti and Dorothy “Dot” (George) Belonga. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A service will be held on Saturday at 12 PM in the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Watervliet. Friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Jean’s family on Saturday, prior to the service, from 9 AM until 12 PM at the funeral home.
