John J. "Jack"  DeGeorge
WATERVLIET – John “Jack” J. DeGeorge, 61, formerly of North Albany, died Saturday at the Springs Nursing Center in Troy. Born in Albany on November 2, 1955, he was the son of the late Louis A. and Elizabeth K. Phillips DeGeorge, Sr. He was raised in North Albany and graduated from Albany City Schools. He played for the North Albany Little League farm team.
He was a US Marine Corps veteran from 1975-78. He was employed for many firms in the Capital District including Apex Oils at the Port of Rensselaer as a fuel transfer technician.
He cherished his time spent with his grandson Jayden. He was a Washington Redskins and New York Yankees fan and loved Harley Davidson motorcycles.
He is the husband of 38 years of Donna J. Luce; father of John, Robert, Adam (Kellie) and Sherry DeGeorge; poppy of Jayden DeGeorge; brother of Patricia Preston, Pamela Waterbury and the late Louis A. DeGeorge, Jr. and Michael and John Gaglioti; brother in law of Joanne Grabowski and Donna Gaglioti and is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be Thursday at 11 am at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet with Rev. John Bradley officiating. A calling hour will precede the service on Thursday from 10-11 am.
Contributions may be made to the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet, NY 12189 to assist the family.
