Obituary for Michael J. Harrington Sr.

TROY – Michael J. Harrington, Sr., 56, died unexpectantly Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Troy on January 20, 1961, he was the son of the late Bernard Harrington and the late Donna Denton Krupa.
Mike was a 1979 graduate of Troy High School. He was employed by Boyd Printing Co. in Albany for 5 years and later by the New York State AFL-CIO in Albany as a printer for 27 years before retiring in May, 2015. Currently, he was the owner and partner of Fresh Greens at the Park on South Swan Street in Albany.
Mike also worked at Angie’s Pizza in Watervliet while growing up. He was known as “Pizza Mike”, and later always enjoyed eating a Red Front COB Pizza. Mike bowled with his brother Don at the Sunset Lanes in Albany on Friday nights. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and his two dogs, Alex and Blaze.
He is the beloved husband of Tami J. Servedio Harrington; devoted father of Michael J. (Kristina) Harrington, Jr., David (Jennifer) Harrington and Maria Harrington all of Troy; proud grandfather of Michael J. Harrington, III, Mia Harrington and Jack, Evan, Carter, Ashton, Jay and Peyton; stepfather of Chad and Chris Sydor; loving brother of Donna Lynn (Rocco) Sorriento of Troy, Darlene (Tim Anastasia) Harrington of Poestenkill, Ginny (Dan) Visker of Grafton, Donald (Andrea) Harrington of Schodack and the late Sheila Harrington and Bernard Harrington. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Friday at 1:00 pm at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet with Deacon Charles Wojton officiating. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday prior to the service from 10:00 am-1:00 pm.
