Obituary for Betty T. Belokopitsky (DuBois)

MAPLEWOOD – Betty T. Belokopitsky (DuBois) of Maplewood passed away on April 19, 2017 peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born in Cohoes to Arthur and Bertha ((Elmer) DuBois. She graduated early from St. Joseph’s Academy in Cohoes and with honors. She worked at Behr-Manning Paper Company where she met Mickey, her husband of 46 years. She went on to complete her beautician certification, of which she was very proud.
Betty loved baking, cooking, and feeding the world, which she passed on to her many grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Basil’s Russian Orthodox Church of Maplewood. In her early life, she was very active in St. Basil’s “R” Club where she taught Russian Folk dancing and was an avid bowler and won many trophies and awards.
Betty loved nothing more than to be with family, grandchildren, and many neighborhood kids at her camp in Indian Lake, NY.
Betty was the beloved wife of the late Mickey Belokopitsky for 46 years; loving mother of Michael K. (Joyce), Daria (Alan Iversen), Mark, and Matt (Barb); adored Memere of the late Michael Lawrence (Katie Rose), as well as Melissa (Larry) Hilt, Dawn (Jason) Gariepy, Laura (Paul) Koniowka, Eric (Jena) Iversen, Chelsea Iversen, Alyx (Erick) Biddlecom, Greg, JT (Melissa, David (Jenelle) Morelli, and Maureen Morelli; loved dearly by her 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She also cherished her friendship with her dear friend Dorothy. She was predeceased by her parents, 5 siblings, and many in-laws.
The funeral will be Monday at 9:15 am from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 10 am at St. Basil’s Russian Orthodox Church, Maplewood. Interment will follow in St. Basil’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-6 pm.
