Obituary for Josephine T. Trela (Baniak)

WATERVLIET – Josephine T. Trela, 95, of Ball Place, passed away peacefully at home on June 25, 2017. She was born in Troy, NY on September 2, 1921, to the late Aloysisus and Mary Krakewicz Baniak.
Josephine was predeceased by her husband Michael S. Trela and siblings, Rev.Walter F., Angela, Edward and Michael Baniak and Helen Sehallock.
She is survived by her six sons, Michael J. (Linda), Kenneth, Joseph, Paul (Pamela), William and Thomas (Beth). Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Sibling survivors are Frances Printsky, Carline Babbett, Vincent and Victor Baniak.
Josephine was a communicant of the former Immaculate Conception Church in Watervliet.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:15 am from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Watervliet. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7 pm at the Parker Bros. Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 2416 7th Avenue, Watervliet, NY 12189.
