Obituary for Janet Edith Madigan

Latham – Janet Edith Madigan, 74, entered eternal life on Friday, July 21, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Born in El Paso, TX on April 13, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Merle DeLude.

Janet graduated from Shaker High School in 1960 and following graduation began working for the NYS Dept. of Taxation and Finance, working there for 40 years until retiring in 2000 as Tax Processing Manager II. When not at work, Janet enjoyed reading, puzzles, dining out, all types of music, Facebook, online gaming, musical theater, vacationing to Cape Cod, and spending time with her family who she loved so dearly.

Janet’s memory lives on in her loving grandson, Sean Madigan of Latham, her great-granddaughter, Savannah Madigan of Latham, her sisters; Donna (William) Stewart of Clifton Park and Merleann (late Ronald) Brust of Saratoga Springs, her brother, Donald (Patricia) DeLude of Latham, her sister-in-law, Donna Madigan of Colonie, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other in-laws.

Janet was preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Edmund Madigan, and their son, Christopher Madigan.

Janet was a gracious, loving mother, grandmother, sister, wife, aunt, and friend who always liked to keep others laughing. She will be missed by those lucky enough to have known her.

A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, July 26 at 9 AM at St. Ambrose Church Latham. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 4 until 7 PM at Bowen and Parker Bros. Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
