Obituary for Rose A. Esposito (Vicedomine)

LATHAM – Rose A. (Vicedomine) Esposito, 89, died peacefully Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital with her family at her side. Born in Hudson on June 18, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Lucia Gaggiano Vicedomine.
Rose was a graduate of Hudson High School and later took the train to Albany to work for New York State. She met her late husband Ed and was married on July 6, 1952. She raised her seven children and lived in Watervliet and Troy before moving to Latham in September of 1965.
She returned to work in 1977 and worked for the Town of Colonie as a typist with the Youth Center and the Colonie Police Dept. before retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Latham VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church, volunteering with the Young at Heart group and the food pantry. She was an advocate for the Wildwood programs.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and was known for cooking her “quick sauce” and her signature dish, eggplant parmesan. She had an incredible loving spirit and sense of humor and provided a loving home with a full refrigerator for her family and all of her kids’ friends.
She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Esposito, Sr. who died in 2014; loving mother of Theresa (Bruce) Buchanan of Latham, Edward J. (Amy) Esposito, Jr. of Ballston Spa, Daniel Esposito of Latham, Lucia (Conrad) Coopersmith of Nashville, TN, Paul (Lorie) Esposito of Alplaus, Matthew Esposito of Schenectady and Mark (Michele) Esposito of Niskayuna; adored grandmother of Justin (Megan) Buchanan, Sarah (Brian) Oakley, Aaron (Shannon) Esposito, Adam V. Esposito, Alicia Rozario, Aubrie (Scott) Szeli, Amelia (Jonathan) George, Christian Esposito, Lee Michael Esposito, Matthew Esposito and Katherine Esposito; great grandmother of Madison Buchanan, Gabrielle, Natalie and Dominic Esposito, Evie Grace and William Szeli, Fynn Michael George and Owen Joseph Oakley; sister of the late Carmella Julian and Dominick Vicedomine. Rose is also survived by several in-laws and nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to her loving caregivers Tisha, Nancy, Mary Lou and Kristina.
The funeral will be Saturday at 8:15 am from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 9:00 am at St. Ambrose Church in Latham where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Larry Asma. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Watervliet. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 pm.
