Obituary for Elizabeth Alexandra Briggs

WATERTOWN, MA - Elizabeth A. Briggs, 31, passed on September 14, 2017. Born and raised in Albany to Drs. Robert G. and Teresa S. Briggs. She resided in Watertown, Massachusetts.
Elizabeth graduated from Albany High School with honors in 2004, and went on to McGill University in Montreal, then to Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts, excelling in her course work and graduating Summa Cum Laude. After completing her graduate studies, she quickly earned her Certification in Public Accounting, and went onto work for various companies in the greater Boston area.
In addition to her myriad academic and professional achievements, Elizabeth was a talented painter, photographer, gifted athlete, had an intense passion for learning and all forms of music. She recently enjoyed participating as a Citizen Scientist at her local arboretum. She loved world travel and hiking. The frequent misadventures getting lost on mountain trails with her father and her Bichon poodle, Miles Davis, were her favorite times.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving parents and sister, Rebecca S. Briggs, of New York City. She was a joyful and extraordinary gift as both daughter and sister, and while her life was too brief, it was full of love, experience and achievement.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Thursday, September 21st at 10:00 am at the Christ Sun of Justice Parish at the Chapel + Cultural Center at RPI, 2125 Burdett Avenue in Troy. The family will greet friends prior to the mass from 9-10 am. The interment of ashes will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Waterford.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, 125 Arborway, Boston, MA 02130 or www.arboretum.harvard.edu.
