Obituary for Thomas E. "Finn" Finlan

LAS VEGAS, NV – Thomas E. “Finn” Finlan, 55, formerly of Watervliet and San Diego, CA, passed away suddenly Thursday September 14, 2017 at St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson, NV.
Tommy was born in Troy on February 7, 1962, the beloved son of Joyce Fonda and the late Matthew J. Finlan of Watervliet, NY. Tommy attended School 9 and St. Patrick’s Grammar School in Watervliet. A Watervliet High School alumnus (1980), Tom was a perennial standout point guard on the Cannoneers’ basketball team.
Tom relocated to California in 1989 where he pursued a career in the hospitality industry, managing successful eateries in Lake Forest, CA, San Diego, CA and most recently in Las Vegas, NV.
He was an avid sports fan, who fervently rooted for his beloved NY Yankees, NY Giants and Boston Celtics. A passion he passed on to his children.
He is survived by his wife Jennifer Finlan, devoted father of Matthew and Christopher Finlan, dear brother of Barbara Finlan, Maureen Riccitelli and Mary Beth Finlan-Diamond. Tom is also survived by his loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet, NY on Thursday October 12th from 4-6 pm. This is to be immediately followed by a 6 pm service in celebration of Tommy's life.
