Obituary for Kathleen M. MacDonald

LATHAM – Kathleen Marie MacDonald, 70, died unexpectedly on the morning of October 30, 2017. Kathy as she was known was born in Albany, NY on August 14, 1947. She grew up in Latham, NY attending Blue Creek Grammar school and then Shaker High School.
She was a devoted communicant of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Latham. Kathy spent her entire life in the Albany Capital District Area. Upon Graduation from high school she attending Colby and Albany Business Colleges and earned an Associate’s degree. She became an employee for the State of New York in Albany, NY. She was very ambitious and continually took courses that provided a series of promotions up until the time she retired because of medical disability. After 30 years with the state she enjoyed the life of a retiree as best she could despite her medical difficulties. She eventually went into assisted living where she made a new life for herself.
The thing that shown most about Kathy was her indomitable spirit, enthusiasm and positive attitude. Everything was always wonderful no matter the circumstances. She viewed everyone as a potential friend. There were no strangers. Her good humor and happy attitude ingratiated her with all who came in contact. She was loved deservedly so.
Kathy was the daughter of the late Edmund and Julia MacDonald of Latham, NY. Her two sisters Julie Ann and Mary predeceased her. She is survived by her sister Jane Clute and brothers Bob and Ed MacDonald.
A memorial service is being held at 11:00 am Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet, NY. She will be interred in the family plot in Westfield, NJ.
