Obituary for Mary Hope Brundige (Doremus)

MAPLEWOOD – Mary Hope Brundige, 58, died Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at her home. Born in Troy on June 24, 1959, she is the beloved daughter of Jacqueline H. Coraldi Doremus of Ballston Spa and the late Richard J. Doremus, Sr.

Mary Hope was raised in Watervliet and attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Grammar School, School 9 and was a 1977 graduate of Watervliet High School.

She was employed by New York State and later raised her children. She was always a hard worker.

Mary Hope was creative, smart and artistic and a beautiful person inside and out. She enjoyed arts and crafts, kayaking, golf, music, loved to travel and was a Boston Red Sox fan. She had a beautiful devotion to Our Lady Mary and knotting rosary beads.

In addition to her mother, she is the loving mother of William S. Brundige, Jr. (Marissa Pelatti) of Waterford and Edward W. (Sarah) Brundige of Jacksonville, FL; proud grandmother of Andrew Warren Brundige; former wife of William S. Brundige, Sr. of St. Augustine, FL; dear sister of Richard J. (Kathe) Doremus, Jr. of Winfield, IL, Margaret Doremus of Ballston Spa and Christopher J. Doremus (Mary Jo Collins) of Natick, MA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet on Monday from 9:00-10:30 am followed by the rosary recitation at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie.

In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to the Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 South Pearl Street, Albany, NY 12202.
