Obituary for Marie Rose Cebula (Lefebvre)

WATERVLIET – Marie Rose (Lefebvre) Cebula, passed into the arms of her God on Thursday, November 9, 2017 after a prolonged illness.

Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Exerine Juneau Lefebvre; and wife of the late Joseph S. Cebula, Sr.; sister of the late Philip Lefebvre, Margaret Shannon, & Lillian Kehn.

Marie grew up in Cohoes, NY, attended St. Marie’s School, St. Joseph’s School and Secretarial School. Marie was a lifelong practicing Catholic and parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Watervliet, where she was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society and a DDP (Bishop’s Appeal) worker for many years. Marie was married to her husband Joseph Cebula for over 50 years before his passing in July 2000. Marie and Joe moved to Watervliet, NY in 1951 where they raised their family.

Marie was the devoted and loving mother of five children: Reverend Joseph S. Cebula, Jr. of Waterford, NY; Denise (Steve) Dudash of Cape Coral, FL; George (Colleen) Cebula of Bailey, CO; Stephen Cebula (Paula Whitney) of Watervliet, NY; and Michele (Michael) Fera of Albany, NY. Grandmother to: Renee Phillips, Stephen Dudash, Jr., Lindsay Cobb, George Cebula, Jr., Jessica Vopelius, John Cebula, Stephen Cebula, Jr., Terra Moreno, Jason Fera and Deanne DiPace. Great Grandmother to 12 great grandchildren, as well as, several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

Calling hours will be held on, Monday, November 13, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Parker Brothers Memorial Funeral Home, Watervliet, N.Y. The Funeral Mass for Marie will be held at St. Mary’s Church, Crescent, 86 Church Hill Road in Waterford, NY on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow the Mass at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Delatour Road, Watervliet.
