Obituary for Sr. Mary Annette Tudico, PBVM

WATERVLIET – Sr. Mary Annette Tudico, PBVM, 77, entered into eternal life on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn in Albany.

Sr. Mary Annette was born in Albany on August 3, 1940 and was the daughter of the late James V. Tudico and Antoinette (Patricca) Tudico Sewchuk. She was the step-daughter of the late Michael Sewchuk whom she loved dearly. A 1959 graduate of Cardinal McCloskey Memorial High School in Albany, Sr. Mary Annette later furthered her education at both Maria College and Syracuse University from where she received a bachelor degree in education in 1975. She later earned a Masters degree in education.

Sr. Mary Annette entered the religious order of the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary on July 2, 1959 and professed her final vows on June 29, 1965. She spent the majority of her religious life as a teacher and taught at St. Ambrose School in Latham, St. Paul’s School in Schenectady, Sacred Heart School in Albany, St. Helen’s School in Schenectady, St. Mary’s School in Frankfort and at the Cobb Memorial in Altamont. Sr. Mary Annette spent her more recent years at St. Colman’s Home in Watervliet where she took great pride in working in food service. She enjoyed managing the dining room and decorating it for the children at the holidays and for special events.

In addition to her parents, Sr. Mary Annette was pre-deceased by her step-sister, Carmella DeMarco.

She is survived by her aunts, Rosella (late Patrick) Patricca of Albany and Virginia (late Lawrence) Patricca of Schenectady; her cousin, Nancy (Rocco) Losavio of Selkirk as well as several other cousins and her beloved religious community.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Sr. Mary Annette on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 11 am in St. Colman’s Chapel, Watervliet. Interment will follow in St. Colman’s Cemetery. Religious, relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also visit at St. Colman’s Chapel on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 4 until 7 pm.
