Obituary for Doris J. Hallenbeck (Ruopp)

LATHAM – Doris J. Hallenbeck, 89, died peacefully Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center in Albany. Born in Lorain, Ohio on February 9, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Mabel Robinson Ruopp.
Following moving to the Albany area, Doris settled with her husband and family in Latham where they raised their family. Doris was dedicated to her home and family and enjoyed working around her home and in her yard. She especially treasured the time she spent with her grandson, Tyler.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Hallenbeck who died in 2015; loving mother of Steven T. (Cathy) Hallenbeck of Lancaster, CA, Phyllis D. Hallenbeck of Latham and the late Gregory R. Hallenbeck; adored grandmother of Skyler and Tyler Hallenbeck; dear sister of Karlene Airey of Iverness, FL, Patricia (Alton) Ostrander of Colonie and the late Barbara Hickman and Eleanor Brady. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family and close friends may call at the Bowen & Parker Bros. Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham on Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 am followed by a brief service at 11 am. Interment will follow at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at 12:30 pm.
