Condolence: Paul and Connie. So sorry for the loss of your brother/brother-in-law. I didn't know Sheriff Campbell personally, but I did follow his career as Sheriff and he served his community well with distinction and honor. Ransen always spoke so highly of him.

Condolence: I worked with Jim for 20 years and regarded him as a friend. He was a true gentleman and a man of conviction and honor. His calm demeanor and vision made everyone around him better and it was always a pleasure to spend time with him. My prayers to his family and may you find the peace that Jim is now enjoying in the arms of his creator.

Condolence: Sincere condolences to Pat and all of Jim's family and friends. I was fortunate enough to work with him at the SP Academy and found him to be truly professional, highly competent and always respectful to those with whom he had contact. When he was elected Albany County Sheriff I commented that the state police had suffered a huge loss and Albany County achieved a huge gain. I am sorry I am out-of-state and unable to personally pay my respects. Rest in peace, Jim.

Condolence: I was saddened to read of Jim Campbell‘s passing. We served on opposite sides of the criminal justice system for most of our careers. Despite that professional opposition, he was always warm, friendly, and receptive whenever I called.

Jim was a man who’s decency was immediately apparent. He never suffered the arrogance of power and position. He took your phone calls, and treated opponents with the same consideration and respect that he did others.

If you met Jim Campbell, you liked him. He was one of those guys to whom people responded regardless of how well or little they knew him. It felt good to tell out of town attorneys that this sheriff would take their calls and treat them with genuine concern and respect

Jim Campbell was a good and decent man who gave his life to public service. He touched many lives and tried to make them better. His sense of fairness and justice inspired others to aim higher. We are poorer for his passing. We have lost a very good man.

Condolence: Dear Pat and Family,

So sorry for your loss. Jim was a great guy in fact all the Campbells were great.. I'm sure their Mother (Marge) would be proud of them// They spanned a few age groups and our family (McKeown) were marching right along with them.. Always a kind word and helpful hand was ready to be offered.. May you find some peace. Pat McKeown Burns
