Obituary for Mary Domenica Gallitelli

MENANDS – Mary Domenica Gallitelli, 88, died peacefully Saturday evening, April 21, 2018 at the Van Rensselaer Manor in North Greenbush. Mary was born in Troy on March 14, 1930, the beloved daughter of Rocco and Grace Mary Delduce Gallitelli.
Mary lived all of her life in Menands. She graduated with a Master of Science in Education from the College of St. Rose in Albany. She was an elementary school teacher for over 40 years teaching in the Cambridge, Hoosick Falls, Guilderland and Menands School Districts.
Mary was an active communicant of the Parish of St. Joan of Arc in Menands where she taught religion, was a lecturer, Eucharistic Minister and belonged to the Rosary Society.
Mary enjoyed Broadway shows, plays and movies. She loved traveling with her sister seeing America, but especially enjoyed traveling to Italy with her family to meet extended family still residing there.
She was the devoted sister of the late Sr. Antoinette Gallitelli, ICM. Mary is survived by many beloved cousins.
The family wishes to thank the staff, social workers and nurses of the 3rd floor at Van Rensselaer Manor for their care and compassion shown to Mary.
The funeral mass will be Wednesday at 9:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Church, 76 Menand Road, Menands. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the church prior to the mass from 8:00-9:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 2550 Webb Avenue, Bronx, NY 10468.
