Obituary for Bradley Dean Bowman
STEPHENTOWN– Bradley Dean Bowman, 47, died suddenly Monday, July 9, 2018. Born in Bennington, VT on September 26, 1970, he is the beloved son of Raymond Bowman and Nancy Schaefer Bowman.
Brad was raised and educated in Berlin, graduating from Berlin Central High School in 1988. He was employed as a truck driver for 12 years by A. Duie Pyle of Schodack. Bradley took pride in his job and was very passionate about his career.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting and especially loved deep sea fishing with his brother-in-law Rich and his dad. Bradley liked baseball and football. He often attended the Tri City Valley Cats games and was an avid fan of the NY Giants. He loved to read, especially about wolves, and had his own knife collection. Bradley was a good person and willing to help anyone who might need him. He was the proud owner of his beloved dogs, Sheeba, Shaggy and Murphy.
Survivors include his mother and father, Raymond and Nancy Bowman of Berlin; his beloved wife, Arlene “Ozzie” Sheldon of Stephentown; his siblings, Audrey (Gustavo) Iriarte of Guilderland, Alisha (Richard) Garhartt of Berlin, Amy (John) Fontanello of Wynantskill, Andrea Bowman (Josh Aldrich) of North Bennington, Vt.; his sisters in-law, Betty Brunell and Sue Scanu both of Schodack; his nieces and nephews, Mason and Mackenzie Garhartt, Ava and Valentina Iriarte, Corey and Alyssa Aldrich. Bradley was predeceased by his devoted grandparents, the late Raymond and Evelyn Schaefer of Berlin, who he was very close to.
A funeral service will be held Saturday July 21, 2018 at 12 noon at the First Baptist Church of Berlin, 15 N. Main Street, Berlin with Pastor Peter Seide officiating. Friends may call at the church prior to the service from 11am–12pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Road, Pittsfield, MA 01201 or to the Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 South Pearl Street, Albany, NY 12202.
