Obituary for Maureen Patricia Luscier (Gagnon)

TROY – Maureen Patricia Luscier, 44, of Troy, died on August 24, 2018, surrounded at home by her loving family. A graduate of Catholic Central High School and Hudson Valley Community College, Maureen began her professional life as a dental assistant, before finding her calling as a valued and respected member of the construction and advanced manufacturing trades.

Maureen was a beautiful person, with big blue eyes and an ear-to-ear smile, though she was hands-on at heart—more comfortable wearing a tool belt than a dress. Mo loved playing board games and listening to music, decorating and watching football, cooking and working in the garden. But most of all, Maureen was a devoted and loving mother, daughter, and sister. She never missed a softball game, holiday dinner, or just the chance to share a cup of coffee with her family. Maureen loved her children unconditionally and was a constant source of support and encouragement. Her life was marked by laughter, selfless giving, and love and she will be remembered that way. The loss of Maureen will be deeply felt by many.

Maureen leaves behind her daughters Abigail Luscier of Troy and Alexandrea Luscier (Bryan House) of Pittsfield, MA and a beautiful granddaughter, Ruby Louise. She is also survived by her loving parents, Douglas and Susan Gagnon of Brunswick; her siblings, Jennifer Balogh Volz (Jim) of Troy, Douglas Gagnon, Jr. (Kendall) of Denver, CO and Emily Gagnon (Chris Cummings) of Troy; her four cherished nephews Thomas, Zachary, Eric and Nate Balogh of Troy; her former husband, Adam Luscier of Troy; and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, in-laws, cousins and friends.

Maureen’s family would like to thank everyone who prayed for her, visited, and sent loving notes of encouragement.

Maureen’s family will host a visitation at Parker Brothers Memorial Funeral Home, 2013 Broadway in Watervliet on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 4 until 7 pm. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 10 am in the funeral home with interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Her family also wishes to thank Dr. Maingi and staff at the Hildegard Medicus Cancer Center at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy for their dedicated care. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to the Community Hospice, Gift Processing Center, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208. http://www/sphp.com/waystogive
