Obituary for Michele C. Edwards

WATERVLIET, NY – Michele C. Edwards, 50, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at home.

Born in Glens Falls, NY on May 22, 1965, Michele was the cherished daughter of Joan (Kearns) Edwards of Latham and the late Loyde Edwards. She resided in Latham for much of her life and was a graduate of Shaker High School. Michele furthered her education at SUNY Binghamton.

Michele was employed, for a number of years, in management at Macy’s Department Store in Colonie and more recently was employed as an administrative assistant with the student union at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy.

Michele loved to travel and enjoyed watching movies, theater and the arts. She was an avid reader and had an appreciation for animals and gardening. In the summer months, she could often be found enjoying the family home at Brant Lake where she liked to kayak.

Michele will be missed by her family and friends and her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved her.

In addition to her mother, Michele is survived by her brother, David Edwards of Columbia, SC; her sister, Candace Galarneau (Tim) of Princetown, NY; her uncle, Gregory Kearns of Watervliet and her life-long friend, Randi Mogul. She is also survived by several other uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

A service will be held for Michele on Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock in the Bowen & Parker Brothers Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Michele’s family on Wednesday, prior to the service, from 4 until 7 PM. The interment will be held privately.

For those who wish to remember Michele in a special way, please consider a donation to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302 or to a favorite charity of one’s choice.
