Obituary for Bruce R. Yost

WATERVLIET, NY – Bruce R. Yost, 56, passed away unexpectedly on May 13, 2016 while vacationing in Aruba.

Born in Gloversville on April 14, 1960, Bruce was the dear son of Gertrude “Trudy” (Borst) Yost of Mayfield, NY and the late Harold Yost. He was raised in Mayfield and was a 1978 graduate of Mayfield High School. Bruce furthered his education at Siena College in Loudonville where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

At the time of his passing, Bruce was employed as an investigator with ACE Insurance Company and was also employed by the Watervliet Arsenal’s MWR.

Bruce married his loving wife Maryann on May 11, 1985 and just celebrated their 31 anniversary.

Bruce was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and had achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was an avid and life-long bowler and also enjoyed golfing and hunting. He could often be found spending time with close friends at Olympic Lanes and Albany County Fish and Game Club.

In addition to his father, Bruce was pre-deceased by his nephew, Ned Keating.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Maryann (Lillis) Yost; his sisters and their husbands, Debbie (Gary) Lair and Colleen (Gary) Ulrich; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elsie and Ned Lillis; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Laurie (Jack) Keating, Chrissy (John) Richards and Trish Lillis; his nephews, Tyler and Christopher Ulrich, John J. Keating, IV, John, Nicholas and Patrick Richards and several cousins. In addition, he will be forever missed by his faithful furry companion Max.

A service for Bruce will be held on Sunday at 2 PM in the Parker Brothers Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet, NY. Friends are invited to attend and may visit with Bruce’s family on Sunday from 12 Noon until 4 PM. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers and to remember Bruce in a special way, his family suggests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
