Obituary for Hrant Bardakjian

Hrant  Bardakjian
PLAINFIELD, IN – Hrant Bardakjian, 88, formerly of Troy, died August 29, 2017 in Indiana. Born in Aleppo, Syria on December 1, 1928, he was the son of the late Hagop and Nectar Manoukian Bardakjian.
Hrant came to the United States in 1972 and settled in Troy. He was co-owner of H and V Autobody in Troy for many years before retiring at the age of 65.
He was a faithful dedicated member of St. Peter Armenian Apostolic Church in Watervliet for over 40 years where he served as Arch Deacon.
He loved to read and to be around his family and grandchildren. He moved to Indianapolis in 2015.
He was the beloved husband of Alice Tutunjian Bardakjian; devoted father of Talin (Setrak) Nalbandian of Plainfield, IN and the late Hagop Bardakjian who died in 2013; proud grandfather of Nazaret, Melanie and Hrant Nalbandian and Hrant and Sonia Bardakjian; brother of Yervant (late Rozina) Bardakjian of Latham and Mary (late George) Stepanian of Aleppo, Syria. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The funeral service will be Friday at 10:30 am at St. Peter Armenian Apostolic Church, 100 Troy-Schenectady Road, Watervliet with Rev. Stepanos Doudoukjian officiating. Interment will follow in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the church on Thursday from 4-7 pm followed by the wake service at 7 pm.
