Obituary for Frances "Fran" Zuke (Chapman)

STEPHENTOWN, NY – Frances “Fran” Chapman Zuke, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, May 26, 2018 at Berkshire Medical Center.
She was born in Westfield, MA on April 29, 1941, the daughter of the late William Chapman and Margaret Dillon Chapman. She graduated from Westfield High School. Fran earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Skidmore College in 1963 and was on the Dean’s List in 1960, 1961 and 1962. She earned a Master’s Degree with honors from Tufts University in 1966.
Fran retired in 2003 from Berlin Central School where she was the Business Manager since 1987. She also taught business education at Berkshire Community College in 1987 and Taconic High School from 1978-1982 both located in Pittsfield, MA and Westlake High School in Thornwood, NY from 1973-1977. She was Dean of Students at Briarcliff College in Briarcliff Manor, NY from 1968-1972.
Fran is survived by her husband of 40 years Greg; son William; grandchildren Alana (age 11) and Lukas (age 9) all of Stephentown; her brother, James Chapman and his wife Beryl of Springfield, MA.
Fran was an avid reader and library supporter. She also enjoyed playing golf, gardening and UConn Women’s basketball games.
No services have been planned at this time.
