Obituary for Jean B. Hubbard Scott (Bootmann)

PETERSBURGH – Jean B. Hubbard Scott, 93, died Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Danforth Adult Care Center in Hoosick Falls. She was born in Yonkers, NY on July 12, 1925, the daughter of the late Clarence and Ivah Reynolds Bootmann.
Jean was a graduate of Hoosick Falls High School. She lived in Petersburgh for most of her life. She was the bookkeeper and answered the phone for her husband Mason at Hubbard Refrigeration in Petersburgh. She later was employed by W.J. Cowee, Inc. in Berlin for 17 years as an office worker in the payroll department before retiring in 1987.
She also served as Petersburgh Town Clerk for more than 10 years. She was a member of the Petersburgh Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for 33 years.
Jean was a league bowler in New Lebanon and Hoosick Falls, enjoyed ceramics, coin collecting, traveling and was very artistic. She loved trips to Las Vegas and playing the lottery.
She was the wife of the late John Scott who died in 2012; loving mother of Luella J. (Peter) Hansen of Pittstown, June M. (Robert) Hoffman of Cherry Plain, Scott A. (Lillian) Hubbard of Petersburgh and John M. Hubbard of Oregon; sister of the late William and Donald Bootmann, Ivah Hartnett and Dorothy Lent. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 29th at 5:00 pm at the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh with Rev. Trygve Tomlinson officiating. Interment of ashes will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery, Petersburgh.
