Obituary for Diane M. Brunelle

MENANDS- Diane M. Brunelle, 68, entered eternal life on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends following a brief illness.
Born in Albany on January 4, 1950, she was the daughter of the late J. Leonard Brunelle and Anne Dennin Brunelle. A lifelong resident of Menands, she was educated in Albany at Holy Names Academy and was a graduate of the Class of 1968.
Diane enjoyed a career in state government service working for the CSEA Political Action Center from which she retired from. Upon her Retirement from the State, Diane became a full time volunteer with the Menands Fire Company No. 1 Inc. in 2006, beginning as an active firefighter and then as a Lieutenant with the Fire Police. She was a past secretary of the fire company, and was also active with the Menands Fire Auxiliary serving as treasurer. She was also a former Menands Police dispatcher.
She was a person of faith and was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church in Menands. She enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader but her greatest joy in her life was her fire company family, and she was dearly devoted to them.
Diane is survived by her sisters, Linda Brunelle of Menands, and Corinne "Connie" Brunelle of the Town of Pittstown; she was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Charles L. Brunelle. She is also survived by her Adopted family, Kirk & Theresa Montanye, Ben & Lynn Lattanzio.
Funeral services to celebrate Diane's life will be held on Saturday, December 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet with Rev. John F. Tallman officiating. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Friends and relatives are invited and may call at the funeral home on Saturday prior to service from 9:30-11:00 am.
