LATHAM – Gloria A. (Mackin) Arnold passed from this life on Friday, March 8, 2019 at the age of 88. Born in Syracuse, NY, Gloria was the daughter of the late Francis G. and Anna W. (Hauk) Mackin. She spent her formative years in Syracuse and had been a Latham resident since 1964. Gloria dedicated much of her life to her home and to the care of her family and had been employed by the Center for Disability Services in Albany for a number of years. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and spending the winter months in Melbourne, Florida. She will lovingly be remembered as an outgoing person who, through conversation, befriended many.

Gloria was the much loved wife of Robert E. “Gene” Arnold who died on July 22, 2000; the devoted mother of Lynn Mix of Oneonta, the late Joyce Ann Arnold, Richard Arnold and Pamela Dubois (Richard Weidner) all of Latham; the cherished grandmother of Trevor, Candena, Ashleigh, Bobby, Sarah, Gregory, Timothy, Zachary and Matthew; the adored great-grandmother of Emily, Devin, Gavin, Layla and Ella; the dear sister of the late Betty (late Herbert) Dodd. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her beloved felines.

A heartfelt thank you is extended to Albany Medical Center and St. Peter’s Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care given to Gloria.

A funeral service for Gloria will be held on Wednesday at 6:30 pm in the Bowen & Parker Bros. Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Gloria’s family on Wednesday, prior to the service, from 4 until 6:30 pm. Gloria will be interred next to her beloved husband Robert on Thursday at 12 pm in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt, NY.
