Obituary for Thomas E. Lynch
Menands – Thomas E. Lynch, 65, of Menands, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Troy in 1953, he was the son of the late John F. Sr. and Kathleen M. Lynch.
Thomas grew up in Watervliet and was a 1971 graduate of Watervliet High School. Following graduation, Thomas joined the United States Navy, serving for 4 years. During his service he was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia and also traveled as far as Italy, France, and Spain. Once he returned home from duty, he worked at the Watervliet Arsenal and later in the New York State Office of Technology.
Thomas was unique man with a big heart. He was always first to lend a helping hand, no matter who needed it. He loved spending time with his family, especially his nephews who meant the world to him.
He is survived by his siblings; John Lynch of Clifton Park, Penny (late James) Ritrovato of Florida, and Maureen Lynch of Watervliet, his nephews; Aaron Scott, Jake Scott, James Ritrovato, and Jon Lynch, and by his beloved feline friend, Gus.
A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 4 until 6 PM at Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, Watervliet. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Thomas in a special way may consider a donation to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204.
