My deepest sympathies to the entire O'Connell family. "Mrs O" was such a huge part of my young life, so many great memories, especially the never ending choruses of "Joey, Joey, Joey" that she'd blare from her porch when I'd walk down our driveway next door, even years after I'd moved away and would come home to visit. And she never shied away from making sure I stayed in line when Ma and Dad might not be looking!!!. She always knew where my Ma was when this "Momma's boy" would come home and couldn't find her. I'd knock on her door and ask " Mrs O, do you know where my Ma is??. She did....
By far, my favorite memory of Mrs O came months after I had left home to serve in the Navy. From Great Lakes Naval Base I called my house several times, but could not reach Ma. So it was only natural that my next call was to Mrs O. When I innocently inquired as to my mother's whereabouts I was greeted with a moment of total silence.... followed by a huge cackle of laughter and she said "Oh my God, are you REALLY calling me from 1500 miles away to ask me "where's my mommy"!!!!.
Mrs O, you're caring, dependability, sense of humor, silliness, smile, and upbeat demeanor will never be forgotten by one
