Obituary for Dorothy A. Lashway (Shaver)
COHOES – Dorothy A. Shaver Lashway, 87, died Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at the Diamond Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Troy on September 23, 1932, the daughter of the late Matthew and Helena Laque Shaver.
Dorothy was raised and educated in Watervliet. She was a graduate of the Troy Beauty School. She was employed as a nurse’s aide for the former Nightingale Nursing Home and Leonard Hospital both in Troy and also did home health care. She was also a hairdresser and operated her own shop in Waterford.
Dorothy enjoyed playing bingo and watching her television programs especially the Andy Griffith Show and the Golden Girls.
She is the wife of the late Harold Lashway; beloved mother of Josie Walters of Troy, Sueann Czyzewski and Marlon Coe both of Cohoes and the late William M. Coe. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 15 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
