Obituary for Betty Louise Rosenberger

Latham – Betty L. Rosenberger, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday April 9, 2021 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Watervliet, she is the daughter of the late Ernest and Martha (Dill) Reeves. The family moved to Watervliet where her father Ernest was a chiropractor and mother Martha owned The Watervliet Aquarium.

Betty was a graduate of Watervliet High School Class of 1947. She worked as a switchboard operator for NY Telephone, a printer for Montgomery Ward and a sales associate for Carl Co. during her working career. She was a den mother with Cub Scouts and Camp Fire Girls for her children. Betty also enjoyed traveling, soap operas and TV. Betty and her husband John, who worked for Keis Distributing, and lived in the Ida Hill section of Troy for 50 years where they raised their family until relocating to Saratoga Springs in retirement. Betty’s final home was the Elderwood Village in Latham. Special thanks to the staff at Elderwood for their loving care of “Spaghetti Betty”.

Betty is survived by her children, John “Jack” (Diane) Rosenberger and Jill Rosenberger; her grandsons, James (Hannah Zeigler) Rosenberger and Michael (Leigha) Rosenberger; and great-grandchildren, Maxwell Rosenberger and Hadley Rosenberger. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Betty was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, John W. Rosenberger, Sr. in 2008; and her brother, Robert (Marilyn) Reeves.

Betty will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband John at Saratoga National Cemetery with a private service for the family.
