Obituary for Timothy David Graves

SCHENECTADY - Timothy Graves, 63, a much loved father, brother and uncle passed away unexpectedly on April 8, 2021 after a very long and daily struggle battling the aftereffects of cancer. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Grace (Considine) and Floyd Graves. He attended Averill Park schools and upon graduation worked various jobs before becoming a driver for SYSCO. He also worked as a bartender at many local establishments where his keen sense of humor and trivia knowledge served him well! Tim loved all sports, but baseball was paramount and he treasured his time playing for the Brewers softball team. He was always ready to play a game of euchre or share his picks for the race card at Saratoga.
Spending time with his daughter Lauren was important to Tim. They shared a love for the Cardinals, made a habit of going to garage sales together, and he was her biggest fan during her softball years, even coaching for a time.
The family would like to thank all the medical professionals and his friends Casey and Josh who helped Tim during his 8 year battle. Tim fought tougher medical circumstances than most of us can imagine while demonstrating determination and humor. Hopefully he will be rocking some tunes and enjoying a beverage from here on.
Tim is survived by his daughter, Lauren Graves, brother John Graves, Sr., sisters; Patty Jones and Kathy Curley and brother-in-law Bill Curley, former spouse Briana Graves and predeceased by his brother Matt. He leaves many more loved family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
There will be no calling hours. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the future.
