Obituary for Abdullah B. Quddus (Gregory J. Rostick)

WATERVLIET – Abdullah G. Quddus (Gregory J. Rostick), 54, died Sunday, May 2, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. He was born in Troy on April 29, 1967, the beloved son of Flora L. Alexander Collins of Watervliet and the late Robert M. Collins.

He was raised in Watervliet and graduated from School 3 and Watervliet High School, class of 1985 where he played football for the Watervliet Cannoneers. He later attended Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. He served in the National Guard for a brief time. He was employed by the Schuyler Inn in Menands in maintenance and in the kitchen.

Abdullah (Greg) was a caretaker to his mom Flora and his brother Geoffrey. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his son Rasheed. He enjoyed trips to New York City to see his sister Angela perform on stage. He loved R & B music and watching old movies.

In addition to his mother Flora, he is the father of Rasheed Quddus of Troy; loving brother of Paul Rostick of Watervliet, Angela Rostick (Mark Wyszynski) of Flushing, Queens, Geoffrey Collins of Watervliet, Priscilla Medina (Julio) of Clifton Park and the late Robert and Steven Collins. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. He will be buried in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Addiction Recovery Center (SPARC), 3 Mercy Care Lane, Guilderland, NY 12084.

Arrangements are by the Parker Bros. Memorial in Watervliet.
