Obituary for Carol Ann Tetrault (Stratta)

LATHAM – Carol Ann (Stratta) Tetrault was granted her angel wings on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at the age of 85.

Carol was born in the City of Troy on May 23, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Edward and Kathleen (Graulty) Stratta. Her early life was spent in the City of Watervliet with her parents and five sisters. Carol was a 1955 graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy and later attended the Austin School of Beauty and Culture. She was a member of the Delta Gamma Delta Sorority and became a licensed beautician before her marriage to John J. Tetrault on September 14, 1957 in the former St. Patrick’s Church in Watervliet. John and Carol moved to Latham to raise their family.

Carol’s greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother; she was her family’s fiercest ally, biggest supporter, and number one fan. When she wasn’t spending time with her family, Carol enjoyed watching classic movies, reading mystery novels, and listening to Frank Sinatra. Carol entertained us each day with her playful sense of humor and sunny disposition. She will be remembered for her captivating presence, warm compassionate spirit, and unconditional love for her family.

Carol was the beloved wife of the late John J. “Bud” Tetrault who passed in 2011; loving mother of Kathleen (Daniel) Patterson of Malta, John (Carolyn) Tetrault of Cohoes and Denise (James) Vincent of Latham; cherished grandmother of Nicholas and Brittany Patterson, Blair (Matthew) Lilla and Bailei Tetrault, Bryana (Gregory) Eves, Jameson Vincent and the late Mary Tetrault Patterson; dear sister of the late Nancy Stratta, Bernice Woncik, Kathleen Vogel, Joan Roe and Claire Carroll. Also surviving are many devoted nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated, by the Reverend Donald L. Rutherford, in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, corner of 25th Street and 7th Avenue, Watervliet on Tuesday at 12 pm. Interment will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon – Saratoga National Cemetery at 2 pm. Calling hours will be held in the church on Tuesday, prior to the Mass, from 10 am until 11:45 am.
