Obituary for Arthur Griswold Jr.
Cherry Plain – Arthur Griswold, Jr., 49, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 16, 2022, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born in Bennington, VT he is the son of Marion (Wescott) and Arthur Griswold, Sr.
Throughout Art’s life he worked as a welder and fabricator for many places including, Zwack Inc., Atlantis Corp and most recently D. Condron Construction. It was his passion for machines and building that led him to building up Jeeps and Mud trucks just to go mudding and spend time with family and friends. The people that knew him best always knew they could stop in at Art’s Garage anytime to see what the new project was. He also taught his kids and many others to ride dirt bikes, four wheelers, and anything else that involved getting out there and getting muddy. Some of the best times of his life were spent on top of mountains with the people he loved. He was a true outdoorsman and loved to fish and camp with his family. He also enjoyed going to auctions, tag sales and most of all spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
He is survived by his loving wife, April Griswold; his children, Zachery Griswold, Michelle (Matt Dundas) Griswold and Arthur Griswold; and his grandchildren, Braydon Griswold, Dominic Griswold, and Roselynn Haag.
Funeral services will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in Berlin Community Cemetery.
