Obituary for Mary Catherine "Kitty" Kimball (Flaherty)
Troy – Mary Catherine “Kitty” Kimball, 75, passed away peacefully at home Saturday morning, April 23, 2022. Born in Baltimore, MD on January 5, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Flaherty.
Kitty grew up in Troy and was a 1965 graduate of Catholic Central High School. She worked as a CNA at St. Mary’s Hospital, at the Dept. of Motor Vehicle and for Ma Bell. Her most important job however was at home where she loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and family, taking trips to Alaska, Las Vegas, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Outer Banks, and Key West, just to name a few. Kitty was a kind-hearted and generous soul who accepted just about anyone for who they were. She had a wicked sense of humor and could always light up the room with her smile. She had a larger-than-life personality that paled only in comparison to the size of her heart.
Kitty is survived by her two children; Mary (Joseph) Marro-Giroux of Troy and Timothy (Christine) Kimball of Clifton Park, her grandchildren; Michael (Victoria Savchenko) Mullin, Julia (Vanessa Martinka) Giroux, Tyler Kimball, and Alexis Kimball, her great-granddaughter Aeryn, her siblings, Patricia (John) Quirk and Cathy (Larry) Browe, her best friend Linda Milos, her beloved canine companion Sanchez, and by many loving nieces, nephews, and Key West friends. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Kenneth J. Kimball, who passed in 2013, and by her siblings; Patrick (surviving Cindy), Kevin, and Karen.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 11 AM at Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, Watervliet with interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy. All are invited to a visitation the evening prior, from 4 until 7 PM Monday night at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Kitty in a special way can consider a donation to the Key West Turtle Hospital at www.turtlehospital.org.
