Obituary for Dolores M. Piniella (Traeger)

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Dolores M. (Traeger) Piniella, 75, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 14, 2020 at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis. Dolores was born on July 14, 1944 in New York, NY to the late John L. Traeger, Sr. and Bertha (Pohlmann) Traeger.

Dolores spent part of her childhood on her grandparent’s farm in Stephentown, George and Anna (Haas) Pohlmann.

She was the matriarch and the rock of her family. In addition to raising her family, she worked as a statistical typist for many years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Traeger.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, George Piniella; daughters Theresa Sisk (Jason) and Ann Marie Knapp (David); brother John L. Traeger, Jr. of Syracuse, NY; sisters Barbara Butz of Oneonta, NY, and Kathy Thomas of Valley Stream, NY. She was the proud grandmother of 6 grandchildren: Juliana, Michael, Devin, James Sisk, and Richard and Andrew Knapp.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 29th at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Church, Route 43, Stephentown with Rev. John Close, Pastor officiating. Her ashes will be interred in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Stephentown following the mass.
