STEPHENTOWN – John Kenneth Scott, 79, died peacefully at his home on Monday, August 1, 2022 with his family at his side. He was born in Albany on July 10, 1943, the son of the late Kenneth and Anna Wheeler Scott.

John resided in Troy, West Sand Lake and Wynantskill before moving to Stephentown 14 years ago. He was a proud US Marine serving his country during the Vietnam Era from 1960-64.

Following his marriage, John began a long career with CDTA in Albany as a bus driver servicing the Nassau and Pine Hills routes before retiring.

He was a member of the Stephentown Veterans. He enjoyed old cars and loved all animals especially birds.

He is the beloved husband of 60 years of Joyce C. Wolfe Scott whom he married on May 26, 1962; devoted father of John K. (Amy) Scott, Jr., Wendy Scott, Sherri (Leonard) Smith, Dawn Emmanuel, Cynthia (Dan) Auer, the late Candice Scott Rugenstein, Daniel Scott and Victoria Scott; brother of Robert Scott of Saratoga. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call at the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown on Thursday from 11:00 am-12:30 pm followed by the funeral service at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
