Obituary for Phillip E. Osgood

GRAFTON – Phillip Eugene Osgood, 53, died peacefully Friday, August 12, 2022 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany with his family at his side.

He was born in Troy on November 12, 1968, the beloved son of the late Harold and Marie Flint Osgood. He was raised and educated in Watervliet and resided there for most of his life before moving to Grafton three years ago.

Phil was employed by the University Club in Albany for over 25 years as a cook and landscaper before retiring in 2013. He also worked for the Fort Orange Club in Albany for 10 years. He was known for his Chicken Marsala dish and his Chocolate Mousse dessert that was voted “The Best in New York State”.

Phil loved the outdoors, fishing and boating in the Adirondacks and enjoyed cooking and baking at home.

He especially loved his four dogs, Tanner, Diva, Buddy and Jake.

He is the loving brother of Faith (William) Conroy of Watervliet, Melody Osgood of Troy, Marlene (William) Lambertsen of Troy, Marilyn (Glenn) Fuller of Glenville and the late Daniel Osgood. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet on Wednesday from 4-6 pm followed by the funeral service at 6:00 pm with Pastor Donald Klobb officiating. The interment will be held privately on Thursday at Memory Gardens in Colonie.
