Obituary for Mary Agnes "Aggie" Cellery

MENANDS – Mary Agnes “Aggie” Cellery, 81, died unexpectedly Sunday, August 21, 2022 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.

She was born in Albany on January 9, 1941, the daughter of the late Thomas Cellery, Sr. and Ruth Coughtry Cellery Pupello and the step-daughter of the late Vincent Pupello.
Mary Agnes attended Cathedral Academy in Albany and was in the first graduating class from Cardinal McCloskey High School in 1958. She later received her Associate’s degree in accounting from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy.

Mary Agnes spent her whole working career with Key Bank. She started in 1958 in Albany and rose up to become the Manager of Payroll. She was a member of the Key Bank Quarter Century Club. She moved with the company to Cleveland for 5 years before retiring in 2002.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham.

Aggie was a Brooklyn Dodger baseball fan and later became a NY Yankee fan. She loved going to the movies with her sister, loved dogs, especially Maisie and cherished her time spent as a babysitter with her grandniece and grandnephew.

She is the beloved sister of Thomas (Joanne) Cellery, Jr. of Albany, Linda (Frank) Borysewicz of Latham and the late June Cellery, Katherine Pratt and Margaret Shumway; special aunt of Thomas (Julia) Cellery, III, Bonnie Miesowicz, James Cellery, John Powers (deceased), Gregory Cellery Kathleen Cellery, Lisa (Michael) DeMarco and Michael Borysewicz; adored great aunt of Michael DeMarco, Jr. and Allison DeMarco and is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Saturday, August 27th at 9:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke, Pastor, officiating. Interment of her ashes will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
