Obituary for Paul V. Bisio

TROY – Paul V. Bisio, 93, died peacefully Wednesday evening, August 31, 2022 at his son Mark’s home in Niskayuna with his family at his side.

He was born in Watervliet on May 29, 1929, the son of the late Gennaro and Rose Federico Bisio. Paul was raised in Watervliet and was a graduate of Watervliet High School. Paul lived in Troy for many years before moving to Bradenton, FL in 2016. He moved to the Kingsway Apartment in Schenectady in 2021 after his wife Kathleen passed away.

Paul was employed early in his life by the Forman & Clark Toothbrush Factory (later Tek-Hughes) across from the family home on 6th Avenue. He later was employed by the New York Telephone Company for 43 years beginning as a lineman and retiring as an engineer.

Paul was a devout family man and was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church in North Greenbush where he was a dedicated parishioner and a member of its Men’s Club. He also was a member of the Watervliet Lodge of Elks #1500.

He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen Prendergast Bisio who died in 2020; devoted father of Michael J. (Dawn) Bisio of Kingston, NY, Mark (Toni) Bisio of Niskayuna and the late Paul G. Bisio (wife Beverly survives of Bradenton, FL); proud grandfather of Rebecca Bisio, Derek Bisio, Anthony (Sarah) Bisio, Lauren (RJ) DuBois, Catherine (Jake) Newcomb and Joseph Bisio; great grandfather of Oliver, Miles, James, Lincoln, Louis, Lucas and Everly; brother of Louis (Joan) Bisio of Troy and the late Mary Romano, Tony and Joe Bisio and Isabelle Gabriel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:15 am from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 10:00 am at St. Michael the Archangel Church, North Greenbush. Entombment will be in St. Agnes Mausoleum, Menands. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-6 pm.
