Obituary for Jean F. Young (Connors)

JEAN F. (CONNORS) YOUNG
DECEMBER 19, 1927 – SEPTEMBER 29, 2022

WATERVLIET - Jean F. (Connors) Young, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at the age of 94, surrounded by her family.

She was born in 1927 to Michael Connors and Charlotte Stearns Connors in Troy, New York.

Jean was loving, kind hearted and down to earth. Her easy going nature was a delight to all who knew her.

Family was her focus throughout her life, and she devoted herself to them through many generations as a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Jean loved the simple pleasures in life and the company of others. She enjoyed garage sales, day trips, outings with friends, knitting and playing pinochle.

In her final years she was lucky to be surrounded by many of her extended family and took special joy in being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought her much happiness.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Donald L. Young, her youngest son, Craig Young and her brothers, Russell, Donald and Michael Connors and her sister, Doreen Murphy.

She is survived by her children Michael (Chris) Waters, Timothy (Lisa) Waters, Jeanene Light and her longtime companion Donald Armstrong, Lauren Young and her longtime companion James Cooney, III, Dale Gibbons and her longtime companion Jesse DeWane along with the fathers of her grandchildren, Steven Light, Dean Davis and Daniel Gibbons who was especially kind to her in her final years.

She is also survived by her sister Marjorie Connors and her grandchildren, Charlotte Gibbons, Margaret Gibbons, Kathryn Gibbons, Connor Gibbons, David Light, Nicholas Light, Alex Waters, Kelvin Waters and Naja Davis.

Also survived by great grandchildren Waylon, Alma, Oona, Theya, Alden, Ayda, Wilder, Whidbey, Penelope and Beatrice. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. A celebration of life will be planned in the near future.
