Obituary for Barbara J. Rogers (Comproski)
WATERVLIET – Barbara J. (Comproski) Rogers, 80, entered into eternal life on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at her home in Watervliet surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Troy on May 15, 1942, the daughter of the late John “Jake” J. Comproski and Helen Rose Balog Comproski. A resident of Watervliet her whole life, she was a graduate of Watervliet High School. Barbara was employed by Montgomery Ward & Co., Tek Hughes and Aetna Insurance before retiring.
Barbara enjoyed traveling in her younger years to Hawaii, Bermuda, Spain and many other destinations. She enjoyed trips to the casinos, playing Yahtzee, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is the beloved wife of over 20 years of William “Bill” A. Rogers; loving mother of Leslie A. (Marc) Phillips of Brunswick; adored grandmother of Alexa Rose, Sidney Ann and Addison Lynn Phillips and her grand dog Junior; dear sister of Joan (Lou) Bisio of Troy, Madeline Comproski (Sister Mary Christopher) of Oneonta and the late John J. Comproski, Jr., Helen Bullis, Robert Comproski, Sr., Mary Chaplin, Raymond Comproski, Carol Jones and Dorothy Rosekrans; sister in law of Marilyn Comproski and Donald Rosekrans both of Watervliet. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Thursday at 9:30 am at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet with the Rev. John F. Tallman officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Watervliet. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7 pm.
