Obituary for William P. Chura
CLIFTON PARK – William P. Chura, 82, died peacefully Monday, October 17, 2022 at the Saratoga Hospital.
He was born in Watervliet on August 27, 1940, the son of the late Andrew and Mary Rentz Chura.
Bill was raised in Watervliet on 24th Street and was a graduate of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic School in Watervliet. He later graduated from LaSalle Institute and Hudson Valley Community College both in Troy.
Bill was employed as a project manager in the construction business first with Lux & Quackenbush Architectural Firm in Albany, Barry, Bette & Led Duke (BBL) and Bette & Cring Construction. He also worked for Progressive Construction Group in Alaska as a supervisor for a turbine building. In his retirement years, he enjoyed golf.
He is the beloved husband of 61 years of Edna B. Jewett Chura; loving father of Mark (Lynn) Chura of Galway, Michael (Debbie) Chura of Poestenkill, Matthew (Nancy) Chura of Lake Luzerne, William (Megan) Chura of Newton, MA, Michelle (Jim) Corrigan of Coventry, CT and Barbara Chura of Avondale, AZ; proud grandfather of Nicholas, Gavin, Alexandria, Emily, Kyle, Joey and Kaitlyn. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Chura.
