Obituary for John Raymond Bouchard

CLIFTON PARK – John Raymond Bouchard, 60, formerly of Watervliet, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 19, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Troy on April 10, 1962, the youngest son of Anna Natarelli Bouchard formerly of Watervliet and the late George Bouchard. John was raised in Watervliet and was a graduate of Sacred Heart of Mary School and Watervliet High School, class of 1980. He later graduated from SUNY Albany with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics.

John was employed as a software developer and consultant for Norstar Bank, NYS Office of Real Property Services, CMA, CGI, LeadingAge NY and for the past 10 years, Versant Health in Latham.

John enjoyed visiting various Disney parks, loved playing wiffle ball and homerun derby in his back yard, loved watching bowling and enjoyed trivia about classic TV shows from the 70’s and 80’s.

He also enjoyed arcade games especially Donkey Kong, and music ranging from The Beatles to progressive rock and classical. He was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the Dallas Cowboys.

The family would like to give special thanks to John’s hospice nurse, Angel, for the wonderful care she gave to John.

He is the beloved husband of 35 years of Judy Guskie Bouchard; devoted father of Chris (Mary) Bouchard of Norfolk, VA and Amy Bouchard of Davenport, FL; brother of Rosemary (Frank) Starker of Clifton Park, Agnes (Bob) Ostiguy of Cohoes, George (Joyce) Bouchard of Albany and Phil (Catherine) Bouchard of Coeymans Hollow; brother in law of John and Paul Guskie of Watervliet and Sue Ann (Mark) Higgins of Clifton Park; cousin of Donna Hoinski of Watervliet. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Tuesday, November 29 at 9 am from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 10 am at St. Edward the Confessor Church, Clifton Park. The interment of his ashes will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Latham. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday, November 28 from 4-7 pm.
